The YuGiOh Waking the Dragons series is based around Yugi and two of his friends, Joey and Kaiba. Some of the old sidekicks are not present, but these two remain with him throughout the series, helping him retrieve the god cards, and defeat the powerful enemies that stand in his way, as usual. Overall, the plot is only a different spin on the general plot of the comics and television shows, as well as the movie.
