Wangan Midnight 1 A never-ending challenge exists for racers addicted to the insatiable desire for "Speed". The protagonist, Asakura Akio, finds a Fairlady Z at a car junkyard, and is fascinated by it. It is a car with a terrible past called �Devil Z�. He restores the Z, and drives it on the capital freeway to race against people who want to be the fastest of the freeway. Racers such as the surgeon, Shima Tatsuya, who drives a Porsche 911 Turbo called �Black Bird of the Gulf�, and the fashion model, Akikawa Reina, who drives a GT-R 32R.
